Triple Falls Sunrise

This was taken in mid-September at Triple Falls in Glacier National Park. It was at sunrise - I was standing in the creek (on rocks) waiting for the right cloud to come by. The clouds cooperated nicely as this one came by all lit up in wonderful color. I desaturated the cloud just a touch to make it more believable. In a print, I would remove that desaturation.

This was one image processed in Lightroom & Photoshop.

Awesome image Wick! The cloud over the falls is a nice touch.

I really like the composition. The color and exposure gives a feeling of mystery to the image.

I've always been captivated by this location, and you've certainly done a great job showing it. The composition is solid, and your shutter speed is ideal. I do feel a bit of a disconnect between the foreground and the sky though. Such a dynamic range must have required a bit of work to pull out all the tones. To make them blend a bit more, I would suggest darkening down your shadows a bit for the foreground. This will restore the richness that is suggested by the sky.

Wonderful detail and colors in the larger version here, Wick. I've only been to this area once, would love to make a return trip some day. Very nice work overall.

Wick, great combination of elements...
all are wonderful, but I'm really liking the detail in the rock.
Nicely done, with great processing.
Lot of dynamic range in the new 5D111!

Nice angle and detail. I feel like I can reach out and touch the walls by my sides.

Very nice Wick. I like the composition quite a bit, chosen shutter speed too. Love the detail of the rocky walls.

What a neat view of what looks like a tight space. Great that the clouds cooperated so nicely. That golden cloud adds a lot.

Nice capture of a great location. I saw this on the work monitor but had to wait to get home and check it out on the big boy before commenting. The entire image is spectacular but the lit cloud puts it over the top. Well done. :toast:

The angle is amazing—almost claustrophobic. The water esp is gorgeous.
