The Land of Bears

This shot was taken on the Glacier Lake Trail in Banff National Park (Canada). The lady who sold me the backcountry camping permit had reminded me of the fact that "this is not Switzerland - this is the wilderness!" a day before. When I stepped out of the woods and was presented with this view, I was reminded of her words, and, for obscure reasons, also of documentary movies of bears catching salmon. As I was hiking solo, the latter wasn't exactly a thought I liked too much, and I so moved on quickly.

Manual exposure blend from three exposures. Nikon D90, 12-24/4 DX @ 12 mm, tripod.

Neat look at a river basin and mountains. Burning in the gravel area in the llc may help put more attention on the middle ground.
