Great Bend, KS is having a busy weekend. One of the events is the AirFest. Since the fireworks were cancelled in July, because of the extreme drought, they were shot off tonight. It was a beautiful evening, perfect for fireworks. Here is a quick edit of one shot from tonight. The jet is a T33 from Oklahoma. 7D, ISO 400, f/8, 5 sec, 23 mm.

I like this. The fireworks look great , and there is a nice amount of detail in the aircraft.

Personal Note: I was jet aircraft mechanic in the USAF during the Viet Nam era. We had several of these at Clark AB, PI in the mid sixties. I was a crew chief on one these old Lockheed birds, and spent many hours airborne flying in the rear seat. Judging by the tail number, this one was built in 1963.

Thanks for the memories!
