Very nice, Sandy. You capture the moment well and this is a fine tribute.

A beautiful capture of this moment, Sandy. I love how the 500 mm lens gives a nice close up view of the Space Shuttle sitting atop the 747.
BTW, I was at Ellis Street in Mt. View last Friday and got to see this in person as the tandem pair did a fly-by over Ames Research / Moffet Field. I couldn't believe how low they were flying. A fantastic sight, indeed.

That is quite the impressive sight. It must be tough to fly the plane with that big heavy thing it's back.

You have managed to freeze the motion with the high speed. What an interesting shot.

This brings back memories of when I went out to the old Stapleton Airport in Denver back in 1980 or so and watched the shuttle Enterprise piggy-backing on a 747 land on it's first flight from California to Florida before any of the shuttles had launched. It was certainly an impressive sight watching that huge mass circle the airport before landing. Great capture Sandy, thanks for sharing!

I like the POV and comp Sandy, it's a great "farewell" shot.
I watched it on the news & kept thinking how neat it would've been to have seen it live...
With my cam of course
Well done

Good detail for something moving so swiftly. A good composition of a rare subject.
