Here's the second image taken from the tundra, something I have hardly experienced before, believe it or not. It was a short, but strenuous hike up to this spot, but it was well worth it. Nothin' like being able to see for miles around, just about eye level with the tall peaks around, enjoying the vibrant colors of the setting sun.
I had been scouting around for a while up there, and finally settled on this spot, with autumn colored plants, and rocks dotting the landscape. Too bad about the clear sky, but it was a fun evening. At one point, I was all focused on the image I was capturing, dialing in specific settings, adjusting the tripod, etc, when I realized that for some time, there had been a deep thumping noise directly behind me. My heart skipped a beat when I started to turn my head around, knowing that I had been enveloped in the world of aperture and DOF, when something could be lurking behind me. Fortunately, nothing was 'lurking' or stalking me, but I was startled to make eye contact with a large bull elk, which was standing about seventy feet away, leading a herd of female elk. Just a bit too close for me, who tries to leave plenty of room for them animals. Anyways, the point is this; don't get so caught up in shooting, that your surrounding get left unwatched.
As far as actually TAKING the picture goes, I took several exposures and blended them for dynamic range and DOF. Here's the details:
Canon 60d 10-22mm @ 22mm
ISO 100 --- f/11 --- several exposures --- no filters
Thanks in advance for your comments, and thanks for the comments on my last image!

David--I'm glad it looks natural. Working in RAW has been a slight challenge for me, working with the white balance, so I'm glad this one worked out...
