Cranes at dawn

Morning lift off on the Platte. This is a March predawn shot in the central flyway. My first Spring with the migrating Sandhill cranes. I will without a doubt be returning every year. Spent one sundown in a blind on the river and even though the photographic conditions were horrible the sight and sound of the cranes will forever affect my life.

Lovely sunset photo of the migration. Nice job on the exposure, and the colors are rich but not over saturated. Good composition too. I understand exactly what you mean about these life changing moments in nature.

Wow, what a sight. Of course the color of the sunrise is very nice, but look at all those birds! Must have been incredible to see that close up. Have to put this on my list of must sees. Thanks for sharing. :toast:
