Very nice, Verdon. Excellent textures. For a Terry Pratchett fan, this echoes strongly of Paul Kidby's terrific drawings in The Last Hero, an illustrated novel of the Discworld.

Interesting photo. I like the intelligence in that eye.

Love all the creases and curving wrinkles on this elephant, Verdon. Good focus on the eye; I like the color of the eye compared to all the gray of the elephant skin. Nice comp on this but I also could see a tighter crop from the left and bottom to give even more focus to the eye. Nice capture.

majestic but almost sad looking. You captured some great detail around the eye.

Well composed closeup, the eye's clear and sharp Verdon.
I especially like all the "down & dirty" textures, wrinkles, and folds in its hide I see - They frame the eye nicely.
Well done :toast:

What a great crop/composition to illustrate this. By not zooming in for an extreme close-up of the eye, you provide more interest and context, and emphasize the great size of the elephant. Yet the composition and the colors, tones, and smooth, clear texture of the eye draws the viewer in, portraying the mood of the shot. Excellent.
