Against Charcoal

Couldn't resist composing this image to bring out the "glow" of the aspen leaf. I did stack a few images to bring out detail.
Have to say more than one person looked at me quite strangely as hoards of folks where taking tree images.
As always any C&C is appreciated.

Beautiful image Ken , lovely contrast of colour. My only hit is I would have left the end of the stem in the frame .

Ken - Lovely. Really like how the bright yellow stands out against that textured wood. The imperfections in the leaf make it more real and give it some depth.

Lorna makes a good point about the stem but its a minor thing in what is otherwise a beautiful frame.

Ken: Wonderful simple comp and marvelous exposure control. Ditto Ram and Lorna on the stem but that's really straining for a nit. Superb image.>=))>

Ken:
Simple but very effective. Lovely color against this dark textured bg. You could erase the tip of the stem so it does not take the viewer's eye out of the frame.

Nicely done. The dark background and yellow leaf make a nice image. I would have included the whole stem in the photo.

Thanks for all the kind words. And I do appreciate the comments about the whole stem not in the image. Always great to hear others view on such an item. As someone else had mentioned, considering the fires we have had out west this summer, this image is particularly appropriate.

Nice idea, Ken, beautifully executed. Love the textures of the bark especially.
