Feeling Blue

It's been the longest Summer anyone can remember, first of September and the leaves are turning and falling due to the drought. This Jay was curious, looking for a hand out I think. The tail is OOF and it was unfortunate that there was a brown leaf behind his head but otherwise I kind of like it.

Good detail and a nice turn of the head and catch light. The ground clutter takes away from this, but it's not a deal breaker. A solid shot!

Blues came through nicely, particularly attractive in the large photo. Like the head turn and open beak.

John...considering the busy ground you had to contend with...I think this really turned out very nice. My tiny nit is how tight it is on the tail. I wish for just a bit more room there, but otherwise, very nice image. BTW...these little buggars are not easy to get a shot on. I still don't have a Blue Jay shot I am happy with in my collection....but I would take this one.

Some things were working against you here, the light, the busy setting but you did pretty well considering. If you could have gotten a lower angle it probably would have helped.
