This is a scan from an Ektachrome slide taken during an October 1994 stay near Avon on North Carolina's Outer Banks. Through much of the 80's and 90's we regularly spent a week in October on the Outer Banks with some of my siblings enjoying the fall weather and celebrating our wedding anniversary and the honeymoon, camping our way down the shore from NJ to Okracoke Island, NC. Since this trip, we've only been back twice as kids grew up and life got more complicated. This trip was a week after a major Northeast storm and the waves were higher that we've ever seen in NC. Taken late in the afternoon with a 400mm Zuiko lens and Olympus camera on a tripod from the deck of our ocean front house. In working on this picture, I'm amazed at how much sharper my digital camera is and how with digital processing I could easily recover the blown highlights.
