This summer I've spent quite a bit of time with this mother bear and her two second-year cubs at their favorite fishing hole. She never paid much mind to me as I watched from my side of the river, but on Sunday, after her two cubs had rushed down the hill and started fishing at my feet, she walked over to let me know that it was finally time for me to move along. I'm not sure if it's hyperphagia, the ending of the salmon run, or just plain old grumpiness, but needless to say, I took her advice.
As always, comments & suggestions are greatly appreciated.
