Grizzly Family

Grizzly mom and cubs from Katmai National Park in Alaska. They are at the top edge of a hill with the tundra below them. I left part of the hill in the foreground so they have a little room and not perched at the top.

Excellent composition with a nice profile and "cute" appeal, too. The soft background nicely isolates the bears as well as the sharp FG grasses that add interest to the comp.

Very nice capture. No nits here. The only possible suggestion would be to crop just a little from the top, but that's a personal perference and certainly not necessary to make this a great image. :toast:

Nice background separation here Andrew with that distant tundra. I think the amount of 'hill' at the bottom is just perfect. Detail looks excellent as well and really brings across the soft feel of those fur coats. I do wish the cubs were looking up a bit to allow a better view of the eyes and possibly a glint, but that was beyond your control of course.

I agree with you about wanting to leave a bit of the top of the hill. It makes for a lovely composition. The bg is great, too. Only wish for a little more head turn from mom, though.

a very cute moment
I don't mind mom looking into the distance - shows she's the leader of this family and is looking ahead and scanning for danger/dinner.
I like that both cubs are facing this way - though having a hint more eye contact from at least one would've been great

They provided you a nice composition. Only thing more you could ask would be eye highlights.
