e. Well, wild sunflowers anyway.

There was smoke and haze hanging around from fires, so the sky is not as pristine as I would have liked.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

Beautiful comp and colors, Morris! I love the large sunflowers in the foreground and the sun flare.

Some nice light here Morris. Love how the sunstar is almost touching the sunflower. I suggest cropping a bit from the bottom to get remove some of that empty space. But other than that its a very nice image.

Love the backlit flowers. A bit of shame about the dirt patch on the left (send in the clones?), and the sky blend line is a bit heavy, but I still like this one a lot! The cloud shape really helps draw me in too.

Morris, always like the look of these unending fields of mustard weeds, black eyed Susans, sunflowers or of course poppies. They can make great subjects and nice prints if captured nicely such as this one here. Really nice work on this scene.....
Not sure, but I think these are a form of black eyed Susans not sunflowers. Maybe someone can let us know for sure.

looks like prairie sunflowers to me
Pretty cool, Morris! I like the perspective. Id brighten the polarized upper/left sky just a bit, otherwise looks good!

I like almost everything about this--the rather empty llc being my only nit. Beautiful colors, wonderful leading lines and the sunstar.
Very, very nice.

Paul, I believe this is the Common Sunflower-Helianthus Anuus. Black-eyed Susans are a Rudbeckia I think.

Pretty scene Morris. For my tastes, the sky seems a bit overly dark in relation to the amount of light on the sunflowers. Love the backlit flowers, and the empty space in front doesn't bother me at all.

Very nice shot Morris. The backlit flowers look great. I would lighten the sky and crop the foreground as it's all happening in the middle.

Clouds work very nicely, IMO. Nice light throughout. I like Stan's suggestion.

Great shot, Morris. Love how the main flowers lead your eye to the sun. Well done!

I think there is some good suggestions here so I won't add anything. What I like is the cloud formation, the warm colors from the sun and the flowers. I really didn't notice the smoke. Fine shot Morris.

Excellent Morris. Great job in handling the light and exposure. In fact, my guess is a grad was used, but have to say you handled it quite well. Nice work.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. :wavey:

Lon, it wasn't a grad, but I manually blended 2 shots for sky and foreground. The post here definitely darkened some from my jpeg file of the shot, so it's not quite as dark as it appears here.
