Another from the front yard, this one about 20 feet from the last post. My concern is the center stem between the two blooms. At first I liked it for the separation , but the more I look at it the less sure I am.

Yes, Bob, I also wondered about the spent bloom between the flowers even before reading your comment. The flowers themselves are gorgeous and nicely fill the frame. Very nice overall.

What if you just darkened that stem a little? The flowers are beautiful & it is a fine image otherwise!

I agree with Eirini, that burning in that spent bloom would make it less noticeable. As is, it's a minor distraction in a lovely picture. The crinkled petals are really attractive.

Nice detail and color in the flowers. I agree with the comments, and your impression, that the spent blossom is a little distracting. I would probably also tone down the brighter yellow/green immediately behind the two flowers.

Just goes to show you don't have to travel half way across the country to find good subject matter....

I like your colors a lot, Bob. Great contrasts, too. I wish the background were a little less busy. Nice!

The spent bloom doesn't bother me but I'm not sure it adds much either. I love the rich color and texture of these blooms. a lovely image

Robert:
A challenging flower for me but you have captured these couplet nicely. Good exposure and preservation of the blue and texture. Agree with you and others about the spent bloom.

Bob - Beautiful capture of what appear to be Mexican Petunia Twins. It works just fine as presented to me but I might see if it looks better with slightly burning the highlights on the bud between the two blooms.
