Two Medicine Sunrise

Just getting back from smoky Glacier National Park, folks. This was taken on one of the clear mornings. In this shot, sunrise lights Mount Sinopah towering over Two Medicine Lake in the Many Glacier region of the park.

This image was captured with the Sigma SD1 Merrill and a Sigma 8-16 mm f/4.5-5.6 lens at f/13, 1/13 sec, ISO 100.

Hope you enjoy it, C&C always welcome.

I do enjoy it Alex, it looks terrific. Nice morning light and colour and the composition works well for me. Perfect conditions.

Gary.

Enjoying this a lot Alex! The composition, interesting FG, morning light, smooth water for reflections, but also able to see the underwater rocks up close - all work well together and convey a wonderful feeling. To nit-pick, if you use Photoshop at all, I would clone out the dock on the left - but that's minor, the image as a whole really has it all. :toast:

I echo Karen's comments. Lose the dock. Nice light and vista.

Very nice, spectacular scene! Personally, id take advantage of the natural symmetry and crop for a 50/50 split, clone out the rest of the log.

Beautiful image. the balance between warm/cool tones and the perfect reflection make it a stand out. Don't care much for the inclusion of the boat dock but not much you can do about that.

Nice capture without the boat dock.

This is such a distinctive landscape. I love the light hitting those peaks. I would definitely lose the jetty extreme left and crop it off even though it de-centralises that conical peak. I reckon the cyan sky is a good foil for those red mountains and doesn't need any clouds to offset its purity of shape and colour.

Perfect reflection Alex and some beautiful color. I notice the hand of man element on the left and do need to move this to the M&N Gallery. Hope you don't mind. If you have any questions, please email me or one of the other Landscape/Man&Nature moderators. Hope you understand. Eva.

I don't see how the dock helps this image, protruding into the frame - I would say crop or clone. Otherwise good landscape.

As has been said, I love everything about this image except the dock, which will be easy to remove.
