I think the backs of sunflowers are also quite beautiful.

Carolyn - We are having a bad year here - probably due to the harsh summers we had. It looks as if we wont have any quality Sunflowers either this year.

Your Sunflower series has been impressive (so have most of your shots). This one is no different. Really like the POV and the light which has brought forward the micro details so nicely.

I too like the backs for flowers, especially the sunflower family with their hairy stems and sepals. This is a great view and the oof color reversal in the urc really keeps the sense of flow going.

The pov emphasizes the large size of the bloom, great detail and the dof is spot on. Also like how the background lets the viewer know that there is a field of them beyond.

Nice job!

Like Mark, I like the diagonal layers in the image - green -yellow -yellow -green, with the soft diagonal corners and nice detail in the centers. The colors are very beautiful. Well done, Carolyn.

Of your sunflower postings this is one of my favorites. Great color and detail; plus the
background is highly complementary.

Absolutely so, Carolyn ! Love the sharpness you've gone for here coupled with the soft fading of the petal edges as if into the sunlight. Great perspective on a lovely flower.

Great image Carolyn. There is one small distraction and based on the image in whole it is a very small one. it is almost right dab center of the image - with the green. But, hey this image is gorgeous and I'd hang it on my wall with absolutley pride. You are absolutely right sunflowers are superb.

You do good work keep them coming :toast:
