Wow! Incredible lines and layers here. A marvelous comp that changes static rock to a very dynamic abstract. Great work.

Sure looks like the rock came oozing out of that hole. Wonderful rock abstract Eva. The comp really draws me in.

fantastic eva - you know i would have explored this in b&w ... i might also consider a 90 CCW turn. more balance maybe - but this has tension which is good.

Your comp gives this a very 3D effect, Eva. Excellent use of lines.

Thanks all for your comments. I took this a while back in 2006 with my first digital DSLR. I drove our youngest son back to University of New Hampshire where he is a Forestry Major / Outdoor Education Minor (about 32 miles away) and drove through Epping NH. Many signs say "Epicenter" and I thought of this image. We usually take the back roads to UNH and Maine to avoid the weekend traffic on the major highways. Just a more pleasant, tree shaded route through rural NH and Maine but it made me think of this image.

Fun trying to wrap my mind around this. I like the 3D quality. Lightwise could maybe see vignetting the edges to put the focus in the center.

Eva,
this is fascinating, dynamic and engaging. What a great rock study and abstract.
Now I don't know why, but I always seem to end up thinking this with your intimate rock studies. One of my early thoughts when seeing this was to turn my head. It seems there are many "layers" that would seem to work as a horizontal. what if you rotated this 90deg ccw? Sorry, just can't help it.
Of course it's probably more dynamic this way. No matter, still a great rock abstract.
