Queen Anne's Lace

I spent a whole morning in a field with masses of these beautiful flowers. They look perfect from the start as a bud until they become seedheads. I chose this DOF to give the image a dreamy feel to it. Does it work?

The shallow DOF works just fine, wouldn't change a thing. :wavey:
Nice stuff.

I would say it mostly does, but the subject might be stronger in less space.

Works beautifully! How on earth did you manage to isolate a single bloom?

I think this works very well, Ellen. The depth of field and point of focus is really strong. Great background, too, just as you mentioned!

Ellen - Love your take on this difficult to photograph flower (except from the top). Works exactly as presented and I have no issues with the POF chosen. Very Nice !

Sounds like a fun morning! I agree they are a great flower, from beginning to end. I like your DOF choice in this; it has a nice dreamy feel to it which is what you were attempting to achieve. Nice background; the color helps show off the flower well.

Delicately done, Ellen - such lovely softness as the flower fades into the pale ground.
