Life's a Crowd

On the corner of a busy area in my downtown was a small group of these flowers. I worked with them a couple of times, though it was a little uncomfortable with all the passerby, etc....
This is one of my favorites I captured, because of the soft overall feeling and slight edges. I especially liked the out of focus stem.
I cleaned up several very small pieces of white debris on the petals.

Nikon D200, 60mm, f/4.2, 1/125, ISO 250.

All comments and critiques appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
Jaymes

I will echo what Richard said - very nice, soft, artistic image. The comp and softness give it a very soothing mood. Nice job!

Certainly a peaceful looking image, especially in view of your comments about making it. I, too, love the soft feel to this. Excellent shallow focus work. Very creative.

I always enjoy images of floral "from the far side". I don't take or enough, nor are they anywhere as well done as this Jaymes. I really like the overall soft look of this.

Soft and alluring. I can't image trying to shoot with people all around. Must be distracting to say the least but you came away with a truly beautiful image.

Jaymes - Nice colors and a very artistic take on a poppy. I would have tried a slightly different POF) like the point of contact of the flower with the stem.

Beautifully simple and soft abstract, Jaymes! I really like your POV from below and only showing part of the flower. Great comp too with the stem on the right and the flower leaning to the left. Lovely!

Jaymes:
I like the softness and the color here. However, this image is not working for me as there is not enough details to hold my interest. Ram's suggestion on focusing at where the stem join the flower is an excellent on.
