Really nice sharpness and I like your comp. Only nit is the lighting looks alittle harsh (it shows up more in the large version).

Eric, really nice look at this fellow! Nice feather detail and great eye.
The BG is a bit bright, and competes with the subject, imo. I'd suggest darkening it a bit, as well as a little darkening of the bird itself..
