Macro photo of a Bunchberry Dogwood flower. These blossoms are quite small, not much bigger than my thumbnail, and line the forest trails at Quoddy Head State Park here in Downeast Maine.
Canon 5DII, EF35-80 macro @80mm, 1/125s f22 w/small diffused flash, ISO 400.

I am not over fond of photo art, but I appreciate the clean lines and good detail here. Good use of the flash with a diffuser.

My wife is from Bucksport originally. We hope to get up there next year.

Great texture, color, and lines in this image. I also really like your comp in this. Nice details and good use of flash. Neat image!

Excellent, Bill. I think the flash worked well for you here to bring out the details. I also like this cropped from the top to eliminate the dark area at the top. Nothing wrong with that area, but this fills the frame a little more with the beautiful green and simplifies the image just a little. Excellent either way, though.

Beautiful image, Bill! I love the chosen DOF that make the leaves in focus as well. The lines give this image its character. :wavey:

Beautiful flower and very nicely composed. Might be worth burning in the brightest parts of the petals just a touch, but fine as presented.

Thank you all for your comments! Phil, Bucksport's a real pretty area. Scott, here's a cropped version--I kinda like it.

I like your original comp over the crop. Lots of texture and nice lines to enjoy and a pretty little flower to top it all off. Nicely done
