I took this with a Macro 100 lens, tripod, and natural light outdoors near Mt.Shasta, California.
The yellow background is bokeh from a field of gorse. I started out looking at the blue and yellow, but then I noticed the lower part of the flower with almost a green mosaic look. It seemed even more elegant than the colors.

Canon Rebel xTi, ISO 200, 100mm, f/4.0, 1/160 sec.

Comments and critiques welcome. Thanks in advance

I see another flower that looks like this one called a Cornflower. I assume they are the same?

Kathy:
Like your composition here using 3 complementary colors here. The bg is just so even and smooth that I thought this was some kind of studio set up before reading your commentary. I like the POV you have chosen but wish for a little more DOF.

Like Gary, I wish for more depth, but for sure a wonderful BG achieved.

Nice perspective! The colors & the composition are great! I think a little more DOF would have made this even better.

Interesting, attractive image. It looks like a vase. Great job arranging the vibrant, contrasting colors.

Cornflowers and Bachelor Buttons are the same and this is simply stunning no matter which name you use. Perfect dof and the detail is right where you need it. Beautiful job!

This is very well seen....a great study in color. The only thing I would like to see differently is a little more DOF as there is alot of detail in that flower that's begging to be shown.
