Wild Boar

For three weeks I'm working with wild boar in a forest pool. Nine different boar come in to drink and cool down. I especially like this young male. When he hits the water all the others go out and wait their turn.

Nikon D4 and Nikon 500/4 VR full frame

This is a fine image of an not so pretty animal. Well composed, good dof and the color and light are nice.

Full frame and expertly composed, in my opinion. I like the reflection, the ripples, the muck generated by that raised foreleg and I especially like the look in his eye. Thumbs up.

Lon stated it best. You captured this boar perfectly, with lots of different elements that add up to one nice image. Well done.

You've made a wild boar look pretty - that's how good this image is! Although, I'd wish for more room on the top and a little less at the bottom.

Hi Edwin,

Good to see you in here again - welcome back.

The thing I like the most about this image are the nice warm (and harmonious) tones and hues here - that struck me immediately. Your depth of field here works well for me and I really like the pose (including the uplifted leg and the "pointing" tail) of the boar and how you positioned it in the frame. While this might also be interesting in a wider view (including more of the reflection), this one works really well as posted and there's virtually nothing that I can see that would improve it - well done!

Cheers...

Brad

Certainly can tell he is boss hog of the pond. Sweet action portrait of this fellow in great light, that waving tail puts it over the top for me.

Sweet One Edwin!
