This is an image of honey bees and a colorful Cosmos, taken last year, which I came across on my computer last night. I cropped the bottom and a little off the sides to make it square, and about 50% of the original size. The background flowers are zinnias. Nikon D700, 180 macro, f9, iso 800, 1/2000 sec. Larger image included. Comments/suggestions welcome.

Doubly Bee-utiful. Nice rich color and the bees frozen in flight, My only very tiny nit would be the yellow in the ulc is a little bright compared to the rest of the bg and keeps dragging my eyes away from the flower. The slight curve in the flower stem is an elegant touch. Great image

What a honey of a shot :P. Fantastic dof with totally cool lines on the bees. and I like the soft multi-hued palate of the background

Lovely flower, gorgeous backdrop, and two bees with obvious intent ! Lovely image, Scott - not least for the great angle on those swirling petals. Oh, and what a title !!
