Amber Light

Another shot from Coyote Gulch a few months ago. Such an amazing place! The high redrock canyon walls reflected their light down on a lower waterfall in late day.

Had to do some pretty tricky tilt/swing to get the focus right - in the end I had to sacrifice sharpness in the top left corner, but it worked out fine as that is blurred anyhow.

CC - appreciated (see larger version)

Walker Titan 5x7, Velvia 100, Fujinon 250mm, Warming Pol, drum scan

Listened to this song (and others from Ray LaMontagne) while photo editing  -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iw_-wCmr3N0

The un-cropped (well - only slightly cropped) version in case you're interested.

The square format works very well - I prefer it. I like the color combo and the intimate view on the waterfall. Good work!

Cropped version is better. Nice light. Love the color shift as the water drops over the ledge

The reflected light at the top right is very nice Andrew and the exposure for the water is spot on. I prefer the uncropped version but I would take a sliver off the top of that too.

A very cool image. I'm glad you shared the un-cropped version, as it made me especially appreciate your choice of crop. The light is quite amazing here...

Andrew, this is spectacular. I like the color spectrum here and I also prefer the uncropped version only because the water escapes out of the lower right corner of the photograph. I think that increases the energy of the shot. The exposure seems right on to me, allowing the water blur but not get washed out. Thanks for sharing this one.

I like the intimate comp and the warm/cool contrast. Also like the unique images you're bringing back from here.
