Bettyhill, Sutherland, Scotland

I posted a similar scene a little earlier Just before the Rainbows but the light is quite different. I like this one a bit more but am thrilled with both. This was taken a little later (maybe minutes) as the light changed. Shortly after we were treated to double rainbows. I switched to my Canon 5DM2 right after this and caught the rainbows but switched back to the Pentax to capture it on film and only caught their Remnants on Velvia 50. Thanks for commenting on my previous posts and thanks for having a look. Taken on a Transient Light Workshop in Caithness and Sutherland.

Wow, went back and looked at the other one too, prefer the comp and sky in the previous but the late afternoon light in this one is stunning!
Both wonderful shots :toast:

That's a beauty Eva, seriously wonderful feel to it with a lovely tonal range and a shimmering golden light on the mid ground rocks. Just checking the shadow areas in the grass foreground and the rocks I think it is a touch biased towards magenta. It might be worth moving the shadow areas toward green to neutralise the slight shift in hue.

Thanks for the input Ian. The color balance was adjusted 10 points towards green for the foreground rock and grass in this repost.

Thanks all for your comments.

You really made the most of the light and textures here. I guess I like the first version best . . . feels more intense colorwise. Those pink flowers are a nice visual discovery point in the foreground.

beautiful light and texture. i like how you left some of the more uninteresting brush in shadow. very well done, and well controlled DR.
