Early light in the Basin. Incredible colors forming in the vast Badwater Basin of Death Valley. Back in March, I spent a several days in the park to find an amazing variety of beauty all around. From Zabriskie Point to the Mesquite Sand Dunes. Just an unbelievable visual playground. I can't wait to visit again soon. Just waiting for cooler weather.
Canon 5d MkIII, 17-40L, Polarizer, tripod. ISO 100, 1/500, f/4.

Very nice image - especially the large one. Good job on not polarizing too much & losing the great reflection.

This is a very nice and unique presentation from this area. I like the overall simplicity of this along with the wonderful textures.

This shot has a very nice calm feel to it -- which I believe is a product of not only the colors, but also the very calm composition. I do feel that your shadow recovery is a bit too high though. If the shadow tones were a bit darker, it would add a bit more richness to the image. On another note, I decided to drive through Death Valley today while returning from another shooting location this morning. It was about 115 at 9AM, and the place was quite busy with tourists. I was surprised!
