Red and yellow

Took this picture on one of my day trips to Western Mass. off the Mohawk Trail. I liked the yellow with the red. And as usual, it seemed to rain on most of our trips last year.

Catherine:

Dahlia is a favorite flora photographic subject. The color is really vibrant and the drops makes it refreshing. Wish the top petal did not touch the edge. Would work in a portrait mode as well.

Would be helpful for critiquing if you also post the technicals

I like the depth of sharpness and the pop of color Catherine. As mentioned by Gary, I would probably add canvas to this so the whole bloom had space. The BG might be a little busy, but with the great color it doesn't bother me much.

Stunning flower! I also think it would be better if the top petal and part of the bud was not cropped. I like the dark rainy feeling of your photograph!
