...Moon of Course.

I have very busy at home, so have not been out (other than some quick backyard macro shooting)in weeks, so I have been absent for a while. However, I recently had a request for some black and white prints, and this is one I chose to convert to offer some choices. It was fun to revisit previous work with a fresh approach in mind. I might try printing this on metallic paper.

I posted the color version of this last year. Color was a strong element in that picture, but I saw something there that looked like it would make a good black and white. Conversions still in progress, so I'm wondering what you think of some of these.

Canon 50D
Canon 100-400
20 sec. @ f/8; ISO 200 + 1/25 sec. @ f/8 for Moon
Tripod, release
Converted to B&W in CS5

P.S. Nuts, I see the thumbnail looks like a black hole, so if you are one of the rare people who clicks on this, please look at the larger version.

Lovely atmoshere, the reflection in the foreground just pulls me in. Something about the double horizontal line at the shoreline breaks the flow a bit to my eye, but that is a minor detail in an excellent conversion.

I think this works really well as a B&W. Beautiful scene. I think it might be even better if you could bring out a little more detail in the background trees. It is pretty black from waterline to skyline but that may just be my monitor...

Excellent work.

Looks good to me, Wayne--nice mood! Im not sure bringing out more shadow detail would be a good thing, but it worth playing with.

Nice!. Just enough texture left in the moon to make it radiant.

Very appealing image. I like your choice of a B/W presentation, and the sharp reflection. It looks very dramatic. Great effort.
