Keeping up with my star wars themed redwood images. This one I like with the soft light. The evening fog was just coming in gave a slight magical feeling of being amongst the redwoods. I have a version with the right side cropped a bit, but figured I'd post this to see if it is a major distraction. As always comments and critiques appreciated.

Very nice, Peter. I prefer this composition over your previous post. The soft light and shades of green are enchanting.

Beautiful light that brings out the lushness of the greenery. Makes me wish I was there which is great.

Man, this low angle is great, and the overall comp works for me. I think the tree on the right adds some mystery. I am probably mixing episodes, but that tree makes me wonder if there is a wookie hiding behind it.

Wonderful light and processing. I can see why you might want to crop the right a bit, but I don't find the knob distracts too much. To my eye the crop would throw off the balance a bit, too.

Thanks everyone!

Wayne, I'm sure it could go either way. I just envision the scenes from return of the jedi where they speed through the ferns and giant trees.

Jim, I see what you mean about that tree, looking at the other cropped version it feels much more empty.

Going to visit them on the coast tomorrow for a couple of days. Great take here.

Love those big redwoods, Peter. Sure does look Endorian. Love the glow of light and the details in the understory. I wouldn't crop. Would love to have seen a larger version

Thanks Aaron and David.

Aaron I shot my redwood images along the damnation creek trail which is just south of mill creek campground. The parking area is just a pulloff from the road so it's a little hard to find at first but there are usually cars there (unless you go way early). If your camping I would suggest mill creek campground too. Stayed there and it was very nice. Hope you get some stellar images.

Really nice perspective and composition. I wouldn't crop at all.

Magical was my thought too when this popped up. Very nice light. The amount of yellow in the greens makes it feel somewhat glowy.

Thanks Tony. The sun was just starting to creep behind the middle tree creating a sort of backlighting through the light fog. Everything began to glow especially looking towards the west.

The greens suck me right in Peter. The near/far depth works well too. I think it's fine without the crop.

I love woodland scenes like this Peter, pity you didn't upload a larger version. Colours and details are spot on.

Gary.
