Over the River and Through the Woods ...

Taken at Roaring Fork last month. We liked the composition of elements here and the contrast of the relatively shaded foreground and the warm light / bright colors around the cabin. In retrospect a slight shift in perspective to change the position of the tree relative to the cabin might have been nice. Thoughts?

D&D: I like this as is. To get clear of the tree you would have had to shift left quite a bit and that would have altered the creek FG. I think I have a similar shot but have yet to get through my slides. You've set a pretty high standard here. ><>

Without knowing what's to your right/left, the tree doesn't necessarily bother me with its placement. The overall feel of the stream, fall colors, abandoned cabin oversteps the possible placement of the tree. In other words, D&D, I like it

This is a really sweet scene. The tree does bother me a little bit, but as someone else pointed out, this particular perspective on the creek is really great and it would be a pity to lose it. I think cropping the top lessens the trunk problem somewhat because then it doesn't seem so tall and massive.

Very pretty overall scene and well composed in great light. I was going to suggest moving the tree clear of the cabin (repositioning toward the left) but then you know that.

I just like the feel of it overall, and the detail that you have captured. This just feels 'nice'.
