Purple Passionflower

My wife and I were commenting the other day how we had never seen a Purple Passionflower, even though it is the TN State Wildflower and very common. Then, I see them in two places about 40 miles apart on the same day. Go figure.

I was shooting with a Canon 5D, Canon 100mm macro with a 1.4 teleconverter, f/9, ISO 800.

Wow. God did a wonderful job on this creation.
Great capture on your part. I might have moved the dead bloom over in upper right by hand :toast:

The colours and detail of this lovely flower are beautifully captured, Richard - nice to see it off centre with the leaf to the R.

Very cool flower Richard. I like the 'top-down' view. I wish that the spend bud (bloom, whatever it is) above the flower and to the right was not there.

Richard,
One of the most complex and colorful flower, nicely captured. Wish the purple tips at the top were as sharp as the lower edge.

Oh my, what a flower! I like your comp. and the brightness separation between the flower and the leaves.
