I've got mixed emotions on this because of the clipped top, but I liked the center detail supported by the yellow. I'm interested in everyone's thoughts. Thanks
Bob

Love it! Clipped top? Not a problem. If it bothers you try cropping down a little further and that clipping is no longer an issue.

Cropping down is what makes this work. Well done.

Very nice, the patterned lines in the standards are wonderful and the color is delicious

Hi Robert. I think the clipped top and yellow on each side give this a very interesting feel. I like the 'out of the box' comp. I think this is great!

Bob - Love the folds and the details in the petals. A very unconventional composition that seems to work for me. You did well to retain the yellows to spice up the frame.

I don't mind the clipped top at all. I think what I would like to see is more on the bottom, to a point where the petals have a base. The yellow adds a nice dimension.
I've never had any luck photographing these flowers; you're way ahead of me.

Just caught up with this, Bob - really beautiful. Those deep blues can be so tricky but this is a superb handling of them, bringing out all their texture. Hardly noticed the clipping of the top petal - very fine comp in my view.

The yellow base makes your unconventional comp work very well Robert.
Great DOF, colors, details, and use of side-lighting

Works for me. Yes the yellow completes it and the clipped top adds to the horizontal sense.
