Signs of Summer
by Scott Smorra
Yesterday I went on a long day hike on Mt Hood from Timberline Lodge to Paradise Park (12 miles round trip). The wildflowers are still several weeks out in the main meadows in Paradise Park (~6000 feet), but I did find a few areas with flowers on the south facing slopes.
This is an image of a fresh cluster of Veratrum (Corn Lily). I can spend hours exploring all of the different comps available in these plants. I really like how the tips of the leaves are golden yellow.

Stuart: I don't see the blue in the LLC that you describe. Also the colors are certainly saturated, but I don't feel like they are over the top. I'm wondering if there is some kind of monitor, web browser problem going on here.
Scott: I'm looking forward to seeing what you and Jeremy came up with down by Sparks. It seems like the Veratrum are now growing all over the Cascades. I was amazed by how many of them I saw on Hood.

Gorgeous! I always love these no matter how many times I see them. No complaints, beautifully seen and captured.
