Long Story

I took this last Tuesday at Long Lake here in Colorado. A typical clear morning for this time of year. It does cloud up with the afternoon heating. And, we recently welcomed the start of our "monsoonal" flow from Mexico, to great relief. It has been way above average for heat, and way below average for moisture, so this will bring a welcome change for awhile, at least. The rain will help end the current fires and hopefully prevent any from starting in the near future.

Some wonderful soft light here, Morris. It is a very peaceful and inviting scene with beautiful color and reflections. Very nice!
It has been so dry and hot here as well. Still waiting for rain....

Beautiful. Feels cool and refreshing. I like the way the lines narrow towards the bg, an excellent compositional element. Lovely image

Delicate and cool. The flowers are an excellent way to lead the eye to the reflection and sun kissed mountain range.
A cloudless sky is definitely not a minus here. The distorted trees are a minor nit, but they're hardly noticeable really.
This is certainly a calendar and postcard worthy image, Morris.

Thanks, everyone! :wavey:

John, the middle ground trees are leaning naturally, but the distant trees do show some distortion from the 17mm. I need to try to bring those back to vertical. There was so much blowdown around the trails recently that had to be cut and moved that it looked a little like the Tunguska Event.

Lovely gentle colors. My first reaction was to think increased the saturation on the peaks and in their reflections for more drama, but I'm will to bet that what I see here is much truer to the actual scene and I applaud you for maintaining that subtle beauty. The foreground flowers are really fine.

Nice and delicate, I like the texture of these relatively small flowers among the grasses. Sky is a bit distracting with its' sharper color, but not a lot of it. Nice work.

The gentle soft warm light on the mountains really sets the mood, Morris, then with the addition of the subtle mist on the lake, the wonderful reflection and the beautiful flowers ... a quiet, contemplative image. Love everything about it. Maybe a touch of perspective control for those trees but wouldn't change anything else.

Morris,

A beautiful mountain landscape and reflectionscape; nice job with the near/far composition doing well in combining the flowers with grand scene and refection. My suggestion in addition to popping the warm light and colors would be a touch more contrast as well throughout; actually mostly dropping the shadow values in the peaks.

A bit hazy, but that's par for the course! Pretty shot. I had a couple clouds this morn at Shrine, not much tho.
