Crozon Dreams (+ rework)

Brittany, France

One of the most beautiful spots on the Breton coastline. These flowers are really small so I had to get up really close to them for this perspective, certainly out of the focusing range to get everything nice and sharp. Hence I took two exposures focal range, the first time I've done this incidentally. I could have blended them by hand but ended up using the Photomerge function normally used for stitching panoramas instead.

Canon 5DMkII, 16-35mm

Larger is a must!

I love this type of composition. It's layer after layer of different pieces of nature...the flowers, the rock, the ocean, the setting (or rising?) sun... It's a nature sandwich, if you will. Lol! Anyways, great depth and color!

The kiss of warm light makes this for me with the contrast in color it gives. Wonderful comp, color, and light. :toast:

Absolutely gorgeous KK. that Breton coast is stunning indeed and you have captured the essence of it! I am curious about your blending technique, doe PS' photomerge also consider OOF and IF objects!?

Vincent, I just chopped off the top and bottom thirds of each frame and joined them in photomerge. No out of focus segments in the frames.

Great comp Kah Kit. The coast here reminds me of Monterey, CA. along 17 Mile Drive where the "lone cypress" is located.

Love those flowers, and great job with the blend!

That's rather nice Kah Kit. I like the automatic photomerge with two stacked focus images the simplicity of that technique appeals to me rather more than hand blending for depth of field. Not that I have tried either mind you. I assume the flowers are thrift or sea pink it festoons the cliffs around Scotland in early June.

This is nice, Kah Kit. Sweet light. Nice contrast between the delicate flowers and the rugged ridges.

Perfect light. The flowers provide a great foreground and I like how they trail into the image.

Lovely setting here, the pinks and the oranges go well, the contrasts work well. Would love to see a different version where the water and sky was of a longer exposure could have enhanced the oranges and smoothened the water.

Larger is definitely a must. Great blending on it. Good shutter speed to freeze the flowers - I can see no motion in them. :toast:

Your blend looks great. I'm glad thaqt the wide angle didn't render the cliffs tiny in the distance. They must have been pretty large. The golden light on the cliffs is beautiful.

Beautiful coast scenic Kah Kit! Even though this is a semi-wide and grand coastal view, this actually feels quite inimate. Well done.
No nits from me.

I prefer this comp to the other. Wonderful flow. The sky looks a bit dark/dull, especially for the light. It may be better as you have it though, to help keep the eye in the frame.

A very nice comp Kah Kit with the prominence of the fg flowers drawing me in and the rugged coastline rocks well balanced in the frame. Fabulous light and color too. The stitching looks seamless to me. I've not tried photomerge for focus blending, but will give it a go. I sometimes have success with Auto Blend, but usually end up having to patch up the bits that didn't quite blend properly. It can be a quicker option than blending the whole image manually, but the results are bit hit and miss. Lovely shot here.

Glad you mentioned the sky Paul. I was wondering about that. Here's a tweaked version.

This is glorious mate - the FG is superb and the depth is a pleasure. Great light, and lovely to have such a crisp foreground with what was no doubt a windy event.
