Sandbar in March

I made this picture this past March while walking on a sandbar in the Wisconsin River not far from home. It was made in the early morning not long after the sun had come up. I enjoyed the early light in combination with the fog. It was a quiet and peaceful morning there and this image seemed to capture the feel and mood of that morning for me. Thanks for looking.

Nick, you succeeded in creating a peaceful feeling with this. I think the early fog really makes this work .

Thanks Todd! It was all about the feel for me and the fog was a big part of that.
I had a larger version ready but it looks like I forgot to add it. Hopefully the small one will do... Nick

You really bring good light to Wisconsin, Nick. Your images speak of a very strong connection to the nature of this place.

I like the colors and peaceful feeling in the bottom of this. I like the image even more with the sky and details of the skyline cropped out.

I like the centered position of the grasses and their strong contrast to the bg light and fog. Looks like it was a beautiful morning.

I like the layered comp and the warm/cool contrast. The mist really adds to this, and the light coming through it is cool. Well done, Nick!

Nice and simple composition, all the lines work with each other. I like the play of light behind the standing grasses.

Nick, this is a very appealing composition for me, nice layers and fine separation from the background. The shoreline in the foreground together with the reflection add a lot to me.

Nick, I really like the mood of this image. The mist in the background adds a little sense of mystery and the light is sweet. I also like the composition a lot.
