Nice shot. IMHO a liitle more room on the left to give more room for the ripples would make this image a bit better. Great shot regardless.

I love the expression, appears that he missed his meal and is watching it swim away. Was this at the John C Beasley State Park?

Very nice image Nancy. good exposure and the eye looks fairly sharpe. IMHO it does need a bit more space on the bottom. Thanks for the tech info. Good sharpness for hand held. Thanks for sharing.

A nice subject with a suitable background. I'd have framed this with the heron up and to the right to avoid the centered "bull's eye" composition presented here. Carefully focusing on the face/eye rather than using the center sensor on the heron's shoulder would improve sharpness where it matters most.

Hard to see some of the finer detail with no large version. I can however comment on the comp. I might move this more right and less centered. Also, not sure if the water has some weird ripples, or if it is sensor dust, but i might clean up those spots on the water a little as well and think it would improve this overall.

The absence of a definite horizon makes the shot for me. Good detail. The composition is a bit centered for me, and if it were mine I'd have left room for the virtual (hidden) feet.

The colors and lighting look good here Nancy, I agree with placing the bird farther right and higher in the frame.
