Hey Nancy,

I took the liberty of moving this one over to the Avian Gallery...

Cheers...

This is a Red-tailed Hawk in case you wondered. Te light looks good, but the image has a lot of noise and the blues and greens are over-saturated for my tastes. The composition is a bit heavy on the empty sky as well.

The EXIF in the file shows this was shot at ISO 160, 400mm, f/11 at 1/500th second. If you are going to hand hold that much focal length I'd suggest using a higher ISO to get the shutter speed up a bit.

Nice lookback pose. I would raise the bird in the frame and remove the noise in the sky.

Very nice pose. Usually they are already swooping away when I see them. Like the clean, simple composition. Comments re noise and saturation already made.

Nancy, looks like you have some great suggestions. I agree with them and would only add I would also put this comp a little off center. For me, I might move it a touch to the left since the bird is looking right giving him room to look into.
