I was taking flight shots when this guy landed in a nearby tree. Managed to sneak up & get this through an opening in the branches. Can0n 7D, 400mm 5.6 lens, 1/1600sec, f7.1, ISO 400. Maybe 30% crop.

Sharp detail in the large view Roger. I kinda like this tall, dark, and not so handsome stranger
I think the comp works well, great job of approaching the big guy and getting the shot too.
Tough shooting with this bright light & shadow.
One suggestion for improvement would be to < the saturation level and/or check your color balance.
Great catch & have a nice weekend Roger

Good detail and light. I like the way the OOF branches both provide a frame and a somber mood. I am not sure of the colors, specifically the red. However, it does add to the overall mood.

I agree with the already mentioned suggestions. Anyway, a nice close view of one of the least attractive parts of the bird. Detail looks pretty good, and good job with the tough lighting.

Excellent close-up of this beauty (?) Well it's very sharp and the eye contact is great. I like the silhouetted leaves framing the vulture, nice composition. Sweet One Roger!!!

I also like the way you have the vultures head framed by the leaves and I like how the blue in the BG sets off the colors of its head. You have nice detail in the dark feathers, but IMHO the larger image seems to show a bit of noise. Thanks for sharing.

Great result here. Nice choice of crop... the spotlighting is really accentuated by that dark "border."

Roger,
This is a very interesting shot of a very murky character. He is almost wearing a trenchcoat. I agree that lightening the image a tad could give it a slightly different feel.
