Here is another shot of the spiders that were making their webs in the wild daylilies. This time the background is very blurred. Curious which photo of the two day lily/spider pictures you like better.

Canon Rebel T1i. 180mm macro lens. F/10 for 1/25 sec. ISO 800. Tripod mounted, flash.

I like this one much better - the improved plane of focus has all the important parts of the spider in focus. I like the bits of web here, and the BG - to me - is an improvement as well.
Nice!

I think the former post is more "aesthetically" pleasing, but this one will satisfy the macro nuts a bit more
I like the OOF web plane on the diagonal with your beautiful spider here as well Carolyn:toast:

This is my preference. The lighting, sharpness of the spider and the blurred colored background sets this apart from the norm. Love your backgrounds!

No question in my mind regarding which one I prefer - this one. Love the background. The POV and detail on the spider are excellent as well, Carolyn. :toast:

Carolyn ...this is a nice frame ..from an improvement perspective ..would have placed the spider further up ..may be center composed and reduced the green on the top half. The white seems a bit harsh on my screen ....anyways beautiful piece of work ..

The background sets the spider off beautifully. Excellent image.

IMHO this is the better of the 2 images. Like the sharpness, color, and BG. Would like to have seen a larger image. Thanks for sharing.

I like this image better. I agree with the comments about a different comp though, and the white looks to bright to me also. There appears to be nice detail in the spider and the in focus web strands.

The background is spectacular with that orange and green palette. The white looks a touch blown out on my monitor.
