Ramona's Hue

For much of the year, rhododendron around Mt. Hood in Oregon blend into the background and it's easy to miss how many there are. This time of year, they pop with color and really stand out. These flowers were along the trail when I hiked to Ramona Falls last Sunday.

Beautiful color contrasts. How long do these usually stay in bloom? I would assume they wouldn't be sticking around at the end of july?

To my knowledge they don't last that long Peter :frown: .

John - Very tastefully composed - all the vantage points in the frame are occupied by the lovely blooms. The hanging moss like structures add so much to the beauty.

A beautiful shot whichever way I look at it :toast:

Nicely done! Balance and Beauty...I enjoy the lichen...adds a softening effect. Looks like it should be Hawaii.

the pink looks a little bit florid to me, John; but this is clearly a "personal taste" comment. Perfection in the comp and inclusion of such key elements in the habitat, especially the hanging moss, shoots this one way over the top! Many congrats on the Pick!!
