Mtn. Man Portrait

Gallery: POP PhotosPosted June 28, 2012106 views3 comments

I recently photographed this Mtn. Man at a gathering in Winton, Ca. Because of the poor lighting and a very distracting background, I used Magic Extractor to create an artificial bg. I also included a b&w conversion. Thanks for viewing.

I think for this Floyd, I prefer the color. It just has more feeling for me. Super job.

Portraits are something that we rarely see at NPN, even in the POP gallery. This one is quite nice. Probably would not have noticed the altered background without close inpsection had you not mentioned it. The black and white version is OK, if that is what is needed for some particular use, however, the color has more impact for me. While not being able to see this man's eyes does not spoil the portrait, I think it might have been greatly enhanced if his eyes had been open.
