Desert Passage (revised)

Hi, a couple months ago I posted version of this photo I took in Death Valley with Marc A. I used a 10 stop ND and made a 100 second or so long exposure. At the time it was my favorite, but I went back to my RAW files and processed this version which I took immediately afterward with the ND filter removed and for a much shorter exposure. The two were processed more or less identically. Was hoping for any opinions on which is better? Previous version here: http://www.exploringlightphotography.com/Portfolio/Deserts-and-Valleys/i-Gb4xKVm/3/XL/Desert-Passage-XL.jpg

Thanks, and have a great weekend!

Love both scenes, but if I had to pick one as more favorable it would be this version. With the other image the streaking clouds are moving in a direction that makes my eye wander. Had the clouds been moving away or towards you during the long exposure that would be the clear winner (for me) because the sky could mimic the foreground patterns. Both are excellent images, but my personal vote is this one.

Beautiful capture. Like the sky and the reflections on the FG. Both versions look nice, but personally I like this one much more than the other.

Love the leading lines in the foreground and the wonderful textures as well. While both images are excellent, do prefer this one as I like how the more defined bands of clouds mimic the foreground lines but at right angles, giving this image more graphic appeal over the other version. Beautiful work.

I prefer the better sunstar and the brighter foreground of this one. Not really much reason to go for moving clouds when you have a sunset with cloud patterns this nice.

I like this one better. There is more detail in the foreground.

I like the texture in the sky here more. Beautiful scene with wonderful leading lines! Overall it might be a bit dark, especially for printing.

I like this! Plus I like the dark feel here as it creates a lot of mood. Nicely done. Floris has a point if you are considering a print, though...

Both are pretty awesome in their own way Chris. Can't pick a favorite as I like both for different reasons.

I agree with John; with a sky this good, I would go with it. Like this one better.

This one is the winner for me Chris. I like both versions, but I like the crispness and clarity of this version better.
