Tiered Cascade...

...of Falls Creek in MRNP (Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park).
Turns out that NPN'er, Joe Campisi, and I, traveled through the park separately on the same day. This is another view of the same falls, dialed in a little closer and under more even light, as a thin cloud cover had drifted in overhead during the day.
What struck me about the scene is the amount of water- definitely Spring, now, in the alpine elevations. The dense moss mimics the falls in its own cascade of green. Vegetation holds fast as the torrents surge over it. A log balances at the rim of a tier, pointed downhill- will it stay or be washed over? One sees full cataracts in their channels as well as tiny rivulets finding their own way down and down.
