Mt. Rainier National Park, yesterday, on a drive of the mountain loop.

D700, 70-200, cpl, hh. f11, 1/160, ISO 250, +1.0 EV in Aperture Priority.

Took this about 5 p.m. on the south side of the Mountain. Still plenty of snow up there, but love the way the treetops are being revealed in places by the melting ice of the lake. The dark strip along the top of the image is another area of melt that didn't reflect the sky; nevertheless, it was more luminous than I am able to show...

Anyway, just sharing what I was doing on NANPA's outdoor photography day.

Cool, Catherine, i hope i can get out that way sometime this summer! I know you're 'just sharing' this, but i think it would make a pretty awesome shot if you crop the top portion (to eliminate the white strip and 'road') :wavey:

Right, Stan. Thanks for the comment. I will do that and will also recheck the processing on the greens. They look a little dark...

Catherine,

This really does capture the spring thaw and I too noticed how many of the trees were just emerging from the snow. Not a lot of drama or beauty factor here, but I think you've captured more of a nature story here. And with Stan's suggestion of a crop from the top, I think you'll have a much stronger composition too. Thanks for sharing, hope you enjoyed NANPA.
