It was rather interesting to catch this bear with his mouth open and have such a clear view of his teeth. He had just fineshed munching down on some nice juisy Sedge Grass.

Suzanne, I like the face of the bear with its mouth open. 102 mm is up close to this guy, where did you take the picture?

I like that open mouthed expression. I think a little more space on the left would have been a bit stronger. I see some spots that can be easily removed, along the right edge of the bear. This had to have been a fun and awe inspiring encounter!

Ditto about the comments regarding more space to the left of the frame, Suzanne. But, seriously, how close were you!? Or, are you trying to send out a strong hint to your husband that if he doesn't let you visit East Africa, you are going to go even closer to grizzlies! :jump:

Very nice lighting and excellent detail, especially in those deep set eyes. I can understand why you framed him as you did, his body is facing to the right. Given that, I would still have more room on the left as his head is turned in that direction. If you have any more room at the bottom it looks a little bit tight there to me. Regardless, a great photo of an increasingly rare species, just some little tweaks to consider.
