Bison on a frosty morning, from a recent trip to Yellowstone. I used this image to illustrate my most recent blog post Shots to Die For, which offers 5 helpful tips for staying safe when nature gets fiesty.

Great capture Ian, Love the side lighting and the frost. Can't imagine how cold it must of been.

Just beautiful, Ian. Iconic Yellowstone species superbly captured.
On my possibly poorly calibrated monitor, the white snow has a slightly blueish tint, but others will give better feedback on this.

Wow, that frost makes this exceptional, especially in this light. Excellent angle, exposure and processing. Perfect comp for the Web display of a tight portrait that shows off the frost, but I hope you got other shots that give it a bit more breathing room. A little more space for the buffalo to roam would be great for a larger print.

Super job of retaining detail in the shadowed side. Excellent effect.
