Short-Eared Owl was flying around when the Redwing appeared & gave chase.Taken at Malheur in bright cloud. Canon 7D, 400mm 5.6 lens, 1/1250sec, f5.6, ISO640. Large crop & I'm wondering how well the crop holds up.

This held up fairly well for web viewing Roger.
Great that you caught both birds in focus AND inflight..
Also like the behavioral aspect with the redwing in hot pursuit
No easy task :wavey:

Great inter-action between these species Roger. I like seeing the red flags of the blackbird. It's cool to see this image even though the effects of the large crop are a bit noticable. Thanks for sharing!

Nice catch! Sharp owl in a nice pose, and with great eye contact. Good detail for a big crop!
Well done!

Great shot. These RWBBs are fierce birds. This is fast fast action.
