What the title says. Aligning parallel to the Leaf was the biggest challenge.

ND300s, AFD 200mm F/4 Micronikkor, F/16, 1/200 Sec, ISO400 and Tripod.

Thanks a lot for your comments on Red Rose and do let me know your thoughts on this one.

Will catch up with commenting in the evening - processing some photos currently.

I am so impressed by the completeness of the detail. This is edge to edge sharp. My kind of picture, LOL! :toast:

From the thumbnail this looks like a simple, pleasing picture of a leaf but when opening it up, the depth and the texture really pops off the screen! Very cool to view all the interesting details of a leaf this close. I may have been tempted to crop in from the left eliminating the diagonal vein in the left lower corner. Would like to have seen a larger version too!

Terrific detail! Leaves are one of my favorite subjects for this very reason. The lighting really serves to accent the leaf vein structure. Nice stuff!

(I think I spend more time trying to align the sensor plane parallel to the subject plane more than any other facet of macro work.)

Ram:
The thumbnail looks deceptively bland but the details just hit you in the face once this is open. Fabulous image. Like the slight direction fill light from the top. The larger image looks a lit soft and may require another round of sharpening.

Gary, Thanks. Updated the link with properly sharpened large version, pls take a look now. My eyes are tired after a long shoot this morning.

I like the main diagonal lines of this comp that intersect, and harmonious overall symmetry Ram.
I also like the maze idea behind it...One could keep getting smaller ad infinitum
Very nice :toast:

Super sharp detail, Ram. Outstanding. The last few images you've posted have me convinced to start shopping for a 200mm MN.
